Now, my love of America has been unwavering since my first trip to Disneyworld aged 11 (a bucketload of burgers, fries and ice-cream will win any self-respecting junk food addict over) and I’ve been lucky enough to visit some of the U S of A’s finest cities from San Francisco to Savannah since. For as long as I can remember, fall in Boston has been on my American wanderlust wishlist, so when the opportunity came to spend a long weekend in this east coast haven, I jumped at the chance!
I was totally prepared for everything that a New England autumn had to offer – the rusty red leaves, bright blue skies and picture-perfect houses lined up on wobbly cobblestone streets- but I wasn’t prepared for how much I would ‘fall’ in love with the place (excuse the pun)!
Strolling around Boston common
Boston is impossibly pretty, filled with hidden historical landmarks, quaint coffee shops and beautiful brownstone houses and it’s just the right size to stroll around in a few days. We managed to cover a lot of ground during our whistlestop tour, squeezing in all of the must-see landmarks during our three day stay. We watched a ball game at Fenway Park, hit the shops along Newbury Street, visited the historical Harvard University and ambled along the Freedom Trail, stopping to sample all of the city’s most famous delicacies along the way – from buttery lobster rolls and creamy clam chowder to fluffy Boston cream pie and BBQ baked beans.

We stayed at the gorgeous Inn at St Botolph which was an amazing home-away-from home and the perfect place to cosy up after a busy day of sightseeing!
It was a fantastic few days and a dream to see this magical city in all it’s autumnal glory. Boston – we’ll definitely be back!

You’ve given me some inspiration of places to visit in Boston here. Acorn St looks lovely and very Instagrammable! I’m definitely going to try the Boston cream pie. I hear the autumn is the best time to visit too.
